Not Your Typical
"Tutoring Program"

WE DO READING INTERVENTION AROUND HERE.

This course will transform your child's reading abilities using science based literacy and brain friendly instruction.

Research shows that struggling readers should get at least 90-120 minutes of reading instruction per week.

However, throughout the craziness of the school day it's not always possible for teachers to make that happen.

Our program was designed so that your child gets 180 minutes of reading instruction per week no matter what.

Orton Gillingham

WHAT THE HECK IS IT?

Brighest Little Readers Reading Tutor Reading NV

It's powerful, research-based, instructional approach to teaching literacy using these key features:

MULTI-SENSORY

Lesson involve all major pathways to the brain: visual, auditory, and kinesthetic.

SEQUENTIAL

Concepts are taught in a logical, well-planned sequence.

INCREMENTAL

Each lesson carefully builds upon the previous lesson.

CUMULATIVE

Constant and consistent review of previously taught concepts is provided.

INDIVIDUALIZED

The unique needs of each student are met.

BASED ON PHONOGRAMS

English is simplified by teaching letters + letter combinations known as phonograms.

EXPLICIT

Students are taught exactly what they need to know in a clear, straightforward manner.

^^ WHY DO WE USE THIS APPROACH?

The Orton-Gillingham approach is the "gold standard" for teaching struggling readers and students with dyslexia.

It is the basis for a number of other reading programs.

I've personally seen my student's growth skyrocket since implementing this approach.

IT'S THE KOBE BYRANT OF READING INSTRUCTION

Hello, I'm Amy!

I'm a former second grade teacher who specializes in teaching students how to read.

During my first years of teaching, I realized that I didn't know anything about how to actually teach reading. In college we were taught all about Guided Reading, the importance of comprehension and how to develop a love for reading - but nothing about how to explicitly teach students the foundational skills they need in order to read. I was at a loss and didn't feel like I was helping my struggling readers.

That's when I learned about Orton-Gillingham and decided to get trained in their approach. Once I started implementing explicit foundational skills instruction in my classroom, student growth began to skyrocket. I fell in love with teaching students how to read and seeing them gain confidence in themselves.

I am so happy you are here and can't wait to see how I can help your kiddo!
